Golden Arrow Resources says new exploration program is underway at its Argentinian Yanso gold project

Golden Arrow Resources Corporation has commenced an exploration program, including an Induced Polarization Resistivity (IPR) survey at its wholly-owned Yanso Gold Project.  Located in San Juan province, Argentina, Yanso is described as a gold-copper intrusive-related target with a 300 metres (m) by 90m zone of strong alteration coincident with gold and other geochemical anomalies.  A previous exploration effort at the gold property returned positive assay results from rock chip samples. Highlights of this work include a 16m zone averaging 0.602 grams per ton (g/t) gold (including 2m at 1.27 g/t gold); as well as 2m averaging 3.46 g/t gold, and 2m averaging 3.15 g/t gold. The survey will cover the known target area and test for extensions to the north and south over a distance of 2.4km, most of which is under recent alluvial cover.   According to the company, gold-copper mineralization at Yanso is associated with pyrite or related oxidized surface minerals, the Golden Arrow technical team believes the IPR survey will provide an excellent tool to understand the subsurface extents of the mineralized zone based on chargeability.  Additionally, Golden Arrow’s field team plans to complete a 700-hectare ground magnetics survey to gain subsurface geological and structural information. Independent geophysical consultant Miles Rideout has been hired to guide the IP and magnetics survey programs.  Brian McEwen, VP of Exploration and Development at Golden Arrow said in the company statement: “Yanso benefits from an excellent regional setting that includes nearby producing mines and deposits, and from a clear gold and copper target of unknown extent.” While the aforementioned work is in progress, the field team will also conduct a surface reconnaissance program of mapping and rock sampling.   Contact the writer at georgia@proactiveinvestors.com Follow her on Twitter @MissInformd
